- Chronique –What if it were reality ?
Imagine a collection of unique short stories blending fantastic elements into everyday life. What if the novels were fictive but reflected the reality of our society? It could be a novel about hidden tensions in a family, where everyday situations suddenly become strange and unsettling, just like in “Family Circle”. You are now welcome in Jan Carson’s imaginary world, a mysterious and immersive style of writing that takes the reader on an unexpected journey. The mix of reality and fantasy creates an intriguing atmosphere that keeps you engaged. A fascinating aspect of these stories is how the protagonists react to unusual events. Instead of panicking or trying to escape from the strange situations they encounter, they accept them as part of reality. This challenges our own perception of the world and makes us wonder: what is real and what is imaginary? This particular approach makes Carson’s stories even more thought-provoking. Each novel one is unique and independent from the others, with its own plot, characters, and setting. However, despite their differences, they all have a similarity. Each story explores themes related to the complexities of society, human nature and emotions. Through her writing, Jan Carson conveys a moral or a message that encourages reflection on the world we live in. Whether it is about family, fear, hope, or change, every story leaves the reader with something to think about.
